Meet the Women Behind Chiiso Botanics
Share
Welcome to Chiiso botanics
This isn’t just another skincare brand. This is a story of the resilience of women.
Our story begins in Southern Zimbabwe, where the marula fruit ripens once a year. After the hot dry season, Marula season is a time of plenty, of community, of tradition. It’s during this short harvest season that an incredible group of women come together to hand-collect the fruit that becomes the heart of our product: cold-pressed, wild-harvested, pure Marula oil.
These women rural cooperative – are the unsung heroes of Chiiso Botanics. They’re mothers, grandmothers, sisters, growers, gatherers and dreamers. They’ve found a way to supplement their income doing what they know best: working with the land. And for many, this opportunity has meant school fees paid and some self determination.

But the roots go deeper still.
My own journey was inspired by my grandmother.
She raised countless grandchildren during Zimbabwe’s liberation war in the 1970s, always with quiet strength and an unshakable love for the land. Chiiso was borne out of a need to carry on her legacy as one of the most connected people to the land I have ever met.
And then there’s the oil itself.
Our Marula oil is unrefined, unfragranced, and bursting with goodness. It’s ultra-light and fast-absorbing (silky skin), rich in omegas 6 & 9 and packed with antioxidants. It helps calm inflammation, hydrate deeply, support collagen production, smooth fine lines, reduce redness – you get the picture. With regular use, your skin is left supple, glowing and healthy, no fillers or frills.
Chiiso Botanics is a love letter to the wisdom of women, and to the small rituals that ground us.
So, thank you for being here. When you support us, you’re supporting more than skincare. You’re part of a ripple effect – one that’s reaching far beyond the bathroom shelf.
Here’s to conscious living, radiant skin, and the women who inspire us.
With love,
Mufadzi x
